I love Austin, and trips there for SXSW and Fantastic Fest have become highlights of my year. Tim League and his merry band of mad geniuses have spectacular taste in genre cinema. Many of the best scary movies I’ve seen in the last year and a half have been at the Alamo Drafthouse. (And they’ll bring you fresh baked chocolate chip cookies right to your seat, in the middle of a movie. Always a plus.)
Since I’ve been derelict in my duties as a blogger of late, I’ll catch you up on some of my favorites from FF 2010 and SXSW 2011 in my next post. WHICH I WILL WRITE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THIS ONE. Honest.
But on the eve of this year’s Fest, some of the titles I’m most looking forward to are:

…and The Human Centipede 2, solely so I can say I saw it before all of you. I love THC as a meme, but I wasn’t all that taken with it as a movie.
Though odd are good that my favorite film will turn out to be something unexpected, and that’s the one I really can’t wait to see…
